Each year the National Business Aviation Association recognizes member companies with superb safety records. In 1998, the organization started making special note of companies that have flown 50 years or more without an accident. This year, the corporate flight (Part 91) operations of ExxonMobil, ChevronTexaco Aviation Services, Eastman Kodak, Owens Corning and Sears Holding are the top five in that category, and commercial business (Part 135) operators Lane Aviation. and Crow Executive Air are the top two in their category. (Also in the top five Part 135 firms, Aero Charter, Executive Flight and Mayo Aviation have less than 50 years in business.)
NBAA Convention News talked with representatives of the top five companies in each division to find out more about their operations and their safety successes.
