(ST. LOUIS/Oct. 18, 2012) Aero Charter Inc., the charter, Fixed Base Operation (FBO) and aircraft support company based at the Spirit of St. Louis Airport, Chesterfield, Mo. (KSUS), is promoting Laura Collins, C.P.A., to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Director of Human Resources. Collins also serves on the Company’s strategic planning board, advising senior management and directing the future of Aero Charter.
Collins’ responsibilities include staying up-to-date on the ever-changing tax rules and regulations for aviation companies as well as the requirements for financial statements and human resources. She also works with outside auditors and internal control, while managing financial reporting to state and federal governments. Her other responsibilities include implementing company health and retirement benefits. Collins has been in accounting for 30 years.

Before joining Aero Charter as Controller in 2005, Collins started her own C.P.A. firm, specializing in advising small businesses concerning applicable t ax regulations andproject financing. From this, she was Controller and later CFO for Hansen’s Tree Service. Her resume also includes positions with local firm Bounds, Poger & O’Donnell, as well as Price Waterhouse Coopers.
Collins attended Wentzville Holt High School and then the University of MissouriColumbia. She received her degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and is a certified C.P.A. Collins is the mother of five children and enjoys reading and golfing in her spare time.
