Cheyenne Days is fast approaching. This special event runs from July 22nd through July 31st. The outdoor rodeo and western celebration is one of the largest events of its kind. It draws crowds of nearly 200,000 people annually. It’s not too late to book your flight to create memories for a lifetime.
Why Aero Charter Loves Cheyenne Days
Cheyenne Frontier Days have occurred annually since 1897, with the exception of 2020 due to COVID restrictions. But, last year was a great success, and we can’t wait to go back this year.
The overall event celebrates western culture with unforgettable professional bull riding competitions.
From grand parades, air shows, pancake breakfasts to nightly special events, there is something for everyone. The celebration lasts a full week! The sounds, lights and competition create an experience of a lifetime.
The Big Stars
This year’s musical performers include the following acts:
- Jason Aldean with Gabby Barrett & John Morgan
- Dierks Bentley with Chancey Williams
- Parker McCollum with Ian Munsick & Brett Kissel
- Kid Rock with Night Ranger
- Koe Wetzel, Jelly Roll & Nelly
- Sam Hunt with Russell Dickerson
- Brooks & Dunn with Elvie Shane

The Big Prize
Professional cowboys will gather to compete for more than $1 million in cash and prizes. The rodeo is a tournament-style with the winners advancing to the semifinals and finals. Prizes are awarded for each event. During the Sunday championship round, competitors vie for the highest scores and fastest times. Everyone fights to become the Cheyenne Frontier Days’ champion.

Top Places to Eat & Drink
At any huge event, there is always an abundance of good food, and Cheyenne Frontier Days are no different.
Pancake Breakfasts
One of the highlights — and one of our favorites — is the free pancake breakfast. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, you will have to get out of bed before 7 am to grab some free breakfast before the day begins.
The pancake ingredients are prepared in a cement mixer. The volunteers flip pancakes for hours. It is a one of a kind event.

Chuckwagon
If you are looking for more great food, you have to stop and eat at the chuckwagons. One of the most popular meals is chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, biscuits, beans and cobbler. And, you simply can’t go wrong with the brisket or ribeye steak they serve as well. They are the old west’s version of food trucks. The wagons, dating back to the 1800s, serve food right off of campfires and cast iron pots straight to your plate.
Unique Carnival Dishes
If you are at Cheyenne Days, you have to try the fruity pebble shrimp po’boy. It sounds crazy, but it’s a colorful, crunchy and unique creation topped with a spicy sriracha and ranch dressing.
If you are feeling adventurous try the elote dog. It’s a hot dog topped with fresh corn, pico de gallo, shredded Oaxaca cheese and jalapenos drizzled with spicy mayo, lime and Mexican crema.
And last, but not least, one of our all time favorites is the smokestack. The waffle hash brown is seasoned piled high with pulled pork, elote, Oaxaca cheese, fresh slaw, French fried onion crisps, jalapenos and topped with a tangy barbeque sauce.

2 Doors Down
If you are in the mood for a good, hearty burger, 2 Doors Down is the place. Start off with their famous mac & cheese bites. Then, get adventurous and customize a burger.. All of the burgers are seared to perfection and served with bottomless french fries.
You have to try the towering inferno. It is so spicy, but it is so good. The chorizo patty sits amongst chipotle mayo, jalapenos, sauteed onions and onion straws with a hot sauce served on a pretzel bun.
